AT&T ( att.com) announced on Thursday it has won a $7.7 million networking contract from outdoor merchandise retailer Cabela's ( cabelas.com).
The three-year contract, which expands on an existing relationship, will see AT&T host and manage Cabela's customer Web site and online store. Cabela's plans to significantly expand its online sales by setting up a one-stop shopping experience. The site generates approximately 46.6 million visits annually.
"AT&T is an excellent fit for our company," says Larry Popps, Cabela's director of management information systems. "Their technology and management capabilities, as well as our established relationship, made AT&T an ideal choice for our hosting services solution as we continue to grow and expand our Web site and ultimately improve the customer experience with us."
AT&T will manage all hardware, network security, switching and storage in the environment. The AT&T solution enables performance routing and multi-carrier capability, providing Cabela's with high levels of redundancy, flexibility and security.
