Storage management software provider Acronis ( acronis.com) announced on Tuesday that it would make its disaster recovery solution True Image available to Web hosting providers as a value-added service.
True Image enables hosting companies to duplicate or "image" their customers' mail and Web servers automatically. The company says these capabilities form a key component of a disaster recovery and business continuity strategy. "Hosting providers are more than just commodity vendors," says Max Tsypliaev, CEO of Acronis. "They are business partners with their customers, providing them with mission-critical outsourced services. By adding disk imaging disaster recovery and backup for their customers, they can ensure that should any significant problem befall the customer's hard disk, the hosting provider will have them up and running again in minutes, not hours or days." Web hosts 4Service and Wyre Forest Computer Solutions are the first two companies to deploy True Image through Acronis's service provider licensing program.
