Systems monitoring products provider AlertSite ( alertsite.com) announced on Wednesday it has released its Security Vulnerability Scan, which allows users to inspect security breaches from outside the firewall to keep Web sites and servers safe from worms and other malicious attacks.
"Enterprises today are realizing that Internet security is as important, if not more important, than application features," says Ken Gross, president and CEO of AlertSite. "AlertSite's new Security Vulnerability Scan assures that Web sites and servers are secure before intruders can exploit and attack."
The majority of worms and other cyber-attacks are enabled by a small number of common operating systems and services. The AlertSite Security Vulnerability Scan performs daily scans of all Internet services, ports, routers, firewalls and Internet-connected devices to ensure Web sites and servers pass the SANS Top 20 Internet security vulnerabilities test, as defined by SANS, FBI and FedCIRC.
Run and managed on AlertSite's optimized Linux servers, Security Vulnerability Scan provides customers with a cost-effective and robust security scanning service. The assessment is offered as a subscription service, eliminating the need for software installation, configuration or maintenance.
