C I Host Signs on Second Human Billboard PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 06 May 2005
Web hosting provider C I Host (cihost.com) recently announced it had contracted a second human billboard.
Filmmaker Travis Hayes tattooed the C I Host logo on his forehead in London, England.

The marketing ploy is being billed as "A Word from My Sponsor" and is designed to introduce the C I Host brand into the European market in advance of the company's plans to launch a London-based data center later this year.

A documentary about the stunt began filming on April 19. A camera crew will follow Hayes around London for 30 days collecting footage. Plans are in place to submit the documentary to film festivals. A blog chronicling Hayes' exploits is being kept at www.awordfrommysponsor.com

"The last time we did an advertising tattoo on a person's head, we received media coverage worldwide. This time, we are going to capture the event on film ourselves. Now this is good reality for the big screen," says Christopher Faulkner, CEO of C I Host. "Our first Human Billboard turned the advertising world on its ear. Now tattoo advertising is all over the news," Faulkner said. "This guerilla stunt ought to ruffle a few body parts in the film world."

Jim Nelson was C I Host's first human billboard, signing a five-year contract to have the C I Host logo tattooed on the back of his shaved head.

C I Host, based in Texas, has become known for its use of innovative and occasionally bizarre marketing promotions
