BladeLogic (bladelogic.com) announced on Tuesday that Cable & Wireless (cw.com) had chosen to deploy its data center automation platform BladeLogic Operations Manager for its data center facilities.

"After a careful and thorough evaluation of all available technologies, we selected BladeLogic Operations Manager as it was the only data center automation solution that could meet our stringent business requirements for today as well as be our automation platform for the future," says Zahl Limbuwala, head of operations for hosting at Cable & Wireless.

BladeLogic says that with the deployment of its platform, C&W will be able to reduce operational costs, scale its data center infrastructure, audit and report on server and application configurations and addition to improving collaboration between teams involved in the server management process.

"We are extremely pleased to be working with Cable & Wireless, a major player in the telecommunications market," says Luca Lazzaron, vice president of Europe, the Middle East and Africa for BladeLogic. "With BladeLogic Operations Manager, Cable & Wireless can take a holistic approach to managing its data centers by using one platform to provision, change, configure and manage all types of servers and applications. The end result will be a highly flexible data center environment that is more efficient and responsive to the needs of Cable & Wireless's business as a whole."
