Host Color Adds Image Gallery Script |

Web hosting provider Host Color ( hostcolor.com) said on Monday that it had added a new image gallery script tool to its Max and Mega hosting plans.
The gallery script is the latest open source tool Host Color is offering Web hosting customers. It enables the generation of various sizes of thumbnail images, with automatic resizing, rotating and captioning. The gallery software, which works with a MySQL backend, also supports comments, searches and different levels of access defined by the gallery owner.
"When working with hosting customers you quickly understand what most people find hard in Unix hosting. If they want to install an open source application, for example, there are several things even expert IT users may not be familiar with," says Venelin Mihaylov, chief software developer for Host Color. "The database setup is one of them. Or uploading the correct files in the correct directory with the correct permissions. Now we have taken all this extra work out of installing the new PHP gallery. Our users are able to set up their gallery and upload their images with a simple one-page setup."
