Research and analysis firm Netcraft (netcraft.com) said on Monday that a new version of the Netcraft toolbar is now available.

The updated version includes extensions that enable users to easily see site risk ratings. The new toolbar also facilitates faster browsing and includes support for enterprise desktop rollouts. The toolbar can be used to report phishing sites, blocking them for everyone using the tool. Netcraft says approximately 5,600 phishing sites have been detected and blocked by users of the toolbar so far.

Customized versions of the toolbar are available, Netcraft says, providing banks, ISPs and Web hosts with a tool to protect their customers and networks from Internet phishing scams. Toolbar navigation can also be customized.

Netcraft announced last week that it had launched a phishing site feed, compiled using data form the Netcraft toolbar.
