Web hosting provider and data center operator Peak 10 ( peak10.com) said on Friday that it would expand its Louisville, Kentucky data center to support the company's growth and add redundancy options for its presence in North Carolina and Florida. An extra 10,000 square feet of data center space will be added, with an additional 12,000 square feet available for future expansion.
The company says the expansion is being made because of the demand for high-end managed services and infrastructure hosting. "Our business in Louisville continues its consistent growth as more and more organizations look to outsource the management of complex information technology environments," says Don Esterle, vice president and general manager of Peak 10 Louisville. "The additional data center space we are building-out in Louisville enables Peak 10 to help companies ensure the availability, security and integrity of critical data and business applications 24 hours a day, 7 days a week." Peak 10 moved into the Louisville market with the acquisition of Xodiax in November of 2004. "We knew that Louisville represented a key expansion opportunity for our company," says David Jones, president and chief executive officer of Peak 10. "This additional space will fuel growth not only within the local Louisville market, but throughout our organization as more and more businesses evaluate our compelling solution to add second data center locations as part of their disaster recovery and business continuity plans." The company expects the build-out to be completed by the end of the fourth quarter of 2005.
