Colocation provider Redbus Interhouse ( interhouse.net) announced on Thursday that Web host Rackspace Managed rackspace.com) has moved fail-over servers and networking equipment into its London-based data center, becoming the company's 1000th customer.
Redbus says Rackspace made the move because it wanted to increase the capacity of its UK network from 2.5 to 7.0Gbps. "We live by our tagline of providing 'fanatical support' to our customers and will always go the extra mile to make sure their expectations are exceeded," says Dominic Monkhouse, managing director of Rackspace. "We therefore also need to make sure that our service providers inspire a similar level of reassurance in us, and Redbus Interhouse does that." According to Redbus, Rackspace decided to replicate its core network at Redbus's facilities because of the quality and location of its colocation facilities in London, the many connectivity providers, and Redbus Interhouse's experience with colocation. Redbus also counts Google, Akamai and HP as customers.
