Akmin ( akmin.com), a provider of online Web site building software SiteGalore ( sitegalore.com), announced on Thursday it was accredited with being in adherence with the ISO 9001:2000 standards for international software product quality.
This is the fourth consecutive time Akmin has been found in accordance with the ISO 9001:2000 standards. The quality surveillance audit was conducted by the US-based quality audit firm, KPMG Consulting.
"It is extremely rare for companies to be fully compliant without a single minor non-conformity, " said a KPMG quality auditor representative. "In fact, I cannot recall a company that has achieved this feat in the recent past. The flawless certification assumes particular significance because KPMG can certify companies in spite of finding up to 5 minor non-conformities."
"We don't believe that quality is simply demonstrating that we're following well-defined and vital processes," says Akmin's CEO Prasanth. "To us it's about continually improving the design, development and support processes for the benefit of our customers. And we've done exactly that for the last seven years now."
